The original Valhalla logo emerged from a 1990s MUD competition. Hans-Henrik Stærfeldt later added ray-traced Viking-inspired ornaments to the design. Eventually the logo was adopted by Pentia, a Danish IT consultancy, and was also used by the Royal Danish Theater for their outdoor play "Thor".
